Tom McAteer - Tom has over 30 years of senior executive experience with 20 years in healthcare. Tom led Vytra Health Plans on a journey that included the development of a unique brand that relied on highly refined business process excellence. Employing Six Sigma rigor the Vytra team developed an industry-leading claim processing capability. Vytra delivered consistent operating margins while operating in the individual, small group, large group, Medicaid, and Medicare markets in addition to operating the largest TPA in the Long Island market. As the Senior Vice President for Medicaid at Aetna Tom led a process of new business development that included new plan launches in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida and New York in a five-year period. These included traditional risk based plans and a Federally Qualified Health Center based model, an Accountable Care model and a full risk Managed Long Term Care program. Tom also served as the Chief Deputy County Executive in Suffolk County New York’s largest suburban county. Highest ranking non elected official with duties including Chief of Staff and key advisor to elected county executive. Responsible for Labor negotiations with public employee unions and leadership of appointed department heads including Police Commissioner, Social Services and Health Commissioners. Tom has served on numerous boards over the years and currently he serves on the board of a publicly traded company and two health care companies.
Glenn Polansky, MHA – Glenn is a seasoned health care professional with over 25 years of professional experience. Recently, Mr. Polansky was the past NY Market President for ValueOptions managing over 3.1 million behavioral health members across the east region. He was also the East Region Network Executive for Aetna having responsibility for the network and business development. Glenn was the Chief Executive Officer for Aetna’s Florida Medicaid Health Plan, Integral, a Provider Sponsored Network in the State of Florida. Before joining Aetna / Schaller Anderson, he worked for HIP Health Plan of NY for 9 years as the Managing Director of Network Development and Strategic Planning for over a million member health plan. Mr. Polansky also held positions as the Vice President of Network Development for Columbia Cornell Care as well as with Ernst & Young in their national health care consulting practice. Mr. Polansky worked for one of the largest health systems in Northern California with Sutter Health. Mr. Polansky has been active in many local and national associations and has lectured and presented at several national health care conferences related to cost containment, network development, strategy and provider sponsored organizations. Glenn Polansky received his Masters in Health Administration from the University of Southern California and received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.
Ray Gannon - Ray is a seasoned managed care executive with 30 years of experience in health plan operations, large firm consulting and most recently in long-term care. He has expertise in new business and product line development, marketing, strategy, enterprise project management and the implementation of care models for the dual eligible, intellectually and developmentally disable and other high-risk/high-need populations.
During his career he has held executive positions with several major health insurance companies including Emblem Health, Horizon BCBS of New Jersey and Oxford Health Plans where he reported to the president of each company and implemented a wide variety of strategic initiatives and new lines of business. These include oversight and management of a $250M capital spending plan, the development and management of an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), leading the launch of the Emblem Health brand in the New York market and commercial product portfolio realignment and the reentry of a CT subsidiary plan into the Medicare Advantage market. Ray was also a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s Healthcare Consulting Practice where he specialized in assisting major academic medical centers and other provider sponsored organizations throughout the country with their payor strategies and risk bearing activities. Before joining MCA, Ray was most recently at Archcare, a NYC based long-term care organization, leading its managed care lines of business.
Paul Alfaro - Paul has more than 28 years of management and finance experience in the insurance and healthcare industries. Most recently he was the Executive Vice President of Administration at Healthcare Partners. Mr. Alfaro was responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization and development of strategic plans and alliances. He has held positions with overall responsibility for operational departments including claims, clinical services, information technology, human resources, finance, and network operations. Mr. Alfaro has also managed all aspects of business development including initiating, managing and maintaining relations with payer organizations. He is the former Managing Director of the Queens-Long Island Medical Group where he was responsible for network development, contracting, reporting and analysis. Mr. Alfaro negotiated multiple contracts and settlement agreements with HMOs and several large hospitals, resulting in millions of dollars in cost savings for the Queens Long Island Medical Group PC. Paul Alfaro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public accounting from Fordham University.
John Huber, III, CPA is a founding partner in the Mango & Huber, LLC, a boutique CPA firm located in Springfield, NJ. Mr. Huber has been a practicing CPA since 1984 and has been the managing Partner of Mango & Huber, CPA’s since 2008. The Mango & Huber, CPA’s Firm has a diverse client list which includes several privately held Health Care Providers and Health Care Facilities. The firm also provides Outsourced CFO Services to SEC Registered Companies. Mr. Huber obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware in June 1982.
Cassie Coryell - Cassie is an accomplished managed care professional with over 15 years of experience in network development and complex contract negotiations. With successful network projects completed in more than 20 states, she provides a unique national perspective and understanding of payer contracting, government programs and healthplan network operations. She previously served as Director of Network Development for Aetna’s National Medicaid Business where she was responsible for leading teams to successful completion of all new market builds, resulted in new business in 9 states. Cassie also held positions as National Manager of Reimbursement for Maxim Healthcare and was responsible for all Ancillary Contracting at Horizon BCBS of NJ. Cassie continues to lead successful network development and contract renegotiation projects for Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial lines of business nationally.
